Vikings: Is Christian Darrisaw the best offensive tackle in the NFL?

The Minnesota Vikings’ offensive line has improved this season, and a big reason for this is Christian Darrisaw. He’s been elite this season, so the question becomes, is he the best offensive tackle in the NFL?

Darrisaw is having an incredible season. We all expected big things from him, but I don’t know if anyone could have predicted this kind of trajectory. For one, he barely played last season, but his groin injury is the most to blame for that.

He had his moments last year, despite being a rookie. That’s to be expected, but in year two, he’s completely made the leap. Most players gradually get better, but Darrisaw instantly became the best tackle in one offseason.

Yes, the best tackle in the NFL.

This season, Darrisaw ranks No. 1 according to PFF amongst tackles. The players behind him? Andrew Thomas, Trent Williams, Tristan Wirfs, Laremy Tunsil.

Pretty elite company.

Darrisaw is yet to give up a sack and has only allowed seven pressures all season. Four of those pressures came in Weeks 1 and 2. Since Week 3, he’s really settled in and has dominated elite defensive ends.

Darrisaw didn’t allow a single pressure against Montez Sweat and Von Miller – two of the NFL’s best. Unfortunately, Darrisaw may be on the decline, as he was flagged for his first penalty last week against the Buffalo Bills.

All jokes aside, the former Hokie has been incredible this season and will be up for a massive payday in 2026 when he’s set to become a UFA.

When you haven’t heard anything from your left tackle, then it probably means he’s doing something right. LT might be the hardest position on the offensive line, but Darrisaw is making it look easy.

Darrisaw has been the best offensive tackle in the NFL, and the Vikings are thriving because of that. Kirk Cousins is buying more time in the pocket, and Dalvin Cook is finding holes on the left side of the field.

Skol.
