The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Fort Myers Mighty Mussels season has come to a close, but the St. Paul Saints and Wichita Wind Surge will continue for at least another one to two weeks.

  • Simeon Woods Richardson has done nothing but dominate at Triple-A since his promotion. The 21-year-old has posted an ERA of 2.55 and an opponent batting average of .172 in five games.

  • Edouard Julien continues to impress as the season goes on. He should play a big factor in the Wichita Wind Surge’s playoff run.

Yunior Severino, #14, 2B

  • Yunior Severino has been an underrated player for Wichita this season. In 37 games, he’s hitting .273, with eight home runs and 25 RBIs. At 22, he likely begins the year with the Saints next season.

  • Remember Daniel Gossett? After tossing a no-hitter for the Wind Surge, the right-hander has had a lot of success. Since that game, he’s given up four earned runs in 25.0 innings (1.44 ERA).
High-A

David Festa, #11, SP
1 Game, 6.0 IP, 0.00 ERA, 2 H, 0 BB, 10 SO

  • The Kernels may have lost this game, but David Festa did his part. Six innings, two hits, and 10 strikeouts for the up-and-coming pitcher in the Twins’ system. Look for him to make a big jump next year.

Keoni Cavaco, 3B
3 Games, .167 BA (2/12), 1 HR, 4 RBI, 3 SO

  • Fort Myers season may be over, but Keoni Cavaco did his best to keep the Low-A team in the playoffs. On Sept. 15, he hit a grand slam to give his team the lead and eventually a win.
